24 Random Gems

In this gallery, originally one of my "Quirky
Tours," I’ve singled out 24 special cels from my collection, representing a wide range of series, golden-age, classic, and CGI-contemporary. (Omitting only Cardcaptor Sakura and Tenshi ni Narumon, which each deserve their own “gems” tours.) I’ve briefly introduced each one, then given a link so that you can explore art from the series more widely on your own.
The one exception is the image above, my rare-as-genga’s-teeth Haibane Renmei rilezu, showing Reki and Hikari from the OP, looking up in surprise as the new fledgling drops into their world like a falling star. One of a very limited series of unique authorized repros (allegedly just 25 in number, but I suspect there were a few more), it is a precious trophy of one of the very finest anime series made.
