Step 16: Feelings that Cannot Be Answered, cut 300. Muse is impersonating the kami of academic excellence and trying to interfere with Noelle's make-up examination. That's not difficult to do, and Muse is so happy that one of her evil plans is close to working that she seems about ready to cry. Sequence numbers: A1, B1 (mouth layer).
Vapalla has a similar cel from a cut just before.. I’ve cranked up the contrast on the sketch (thumbnail) so that you can see that the douga artist has put Muse’s widest mouth on the back of the sheet, evidently to make sure that the design leaves room for it, even though in this image she’s simply smiling like a Cheshire cat.
