And here is Shinichirō Minami’s finished version of this frame, scanned against the genga that it corrected. As noted in other examples of Minami’s work from this episode, the artist began the process with rather simple rough images, but was meticulous in correcting the work of the key animators with which he worked. While the genga is, to all appearances, a fine piece of sketchwork, once again Minami reworked every detail, except for Natsuki’s tail and right hand .
The second thumbnail adds a detail from the front of the timing sheet, which also came with this lot. The notes and initials on this sheet may give a clue to the identity of the key animator, whom I believe was the artist of the fine portrait of Natsuki in the next item.
