Cut 94. At the start of the episode, Kohaku (Sango’s rogue brother) and Rin (Sesshōmaru’s companion) have temporarily joined forces with the usual Inu-tachi characters. Sesshōmaru comes on the scene and challenges Inuyasha, using a dark magick that Naraku had provided him.
Both Kohaku and Rin realize this and express concern that Sesshōmaru is putting his soul at risk. The others, who lack this knowledge, watch tensely and without moving. This image appears around 5:16 of the TV series version of this work.
Featured here is the most complete of the gengas, which combines the B1 frame (the Inu-tachi) with the C1/D2 frame (Rin/mouth layer). The thumbnails add two genga shuusei by animation director Rie Nakajima [中島里恵], The one for the B1/C1/D2 genga is partial, but the animator did a complete shuusei for the C3 frame of Rin, whose shock is accentuated by having her do a little shut-eyes bow and bounce back up move.
