And here we see Tohru looking back at the kitchen with obvious sympathy for the hardworking Kagura, still scrubbing out the mess she’d made. It is an especially touching portrait of Tohru, and the three-quarters pose makes a fine contrast to Studio Deen’s usual reliance on flatter full-face and full profile poses.

Again, Yamamoto’s rough is featured with the genga in the first thumb. The interesting genzu that began this process is added in the second thumb, and it’s interesting to see that the initial idea was to have Tohru turn far enough to end in what would be nearly a full-face pose. Likely the animation director felt that this was unrealistic, given the way Tohru was seated, and so the very pretty three-quarters pose resulted.
