Cut 207. And so the two head off together to the train station to head “home” together, Shōko still beaming in the glory of having been “found” at last and Tetsu sprouting a sweatdrop, suspecting that his partner in the scheme is laying it on just a little too thickly. (Indeed, Kotomi, who knows but isn’t telling, is consumed in giggles, and the B&B couple are visibly playing along with the game but presumably know a lot more than they’re letting on.)

Featured above is an excellent, slightly oversized rough that came with this set. As it lacks Fuji’s customary greeting and uses a surprisingly bright orange pencil, notably to signal that Tetsu’s eyes are in shadow, I’m confident in attributing it to Ryoichi Oki, the other veteran animator who received credit for animation direction here. The thumbs add the resulting A1 END genga and douga.

Interestingly, the rough and genga suggested that this cut would include a pan up from Shōko to center on Tetsu’s uncomfortable face. But instead the studio trimmed off the bottom of the keyframe image and used a still frame instead. The douga in the second thumb is standard-sized.

The sketch set did not contain a holograph layout but instead contained a blown-up photocopy of the storyboard image for this cut:
