But Tetsu, a bit discourteously, alludes to the way Karada was “living with” Hiro at the time he had met the strange woman in Kanocho. This makes her turn her head toward the lad (and makes the rest of the table very curious about her past).
This time I’ve chosen the rough again, with the genga and Hasegawa’s shuusei in the thumbnails. Interestingly these show that the animators played with making Karada’s reaction more shocked and wide-eyed. But as you can see from the screen cap, the original artist’s idea won out in the end. Karada is playing her cards very close to her chest. Yes, I was living in the same apartment with him -- what of it?
