The dougas were nearly all complete (I digitally pasted a mouth layer onto the A1 image), and the timing sheet made a pretty faithful reanimation possible. The pause at the start (with a little dialog that I haven’t tried to reflect) last four and a half seconds. I’ve shortened that a bit, but run the action at the eight-to-a-second indicated in the timing sheet. I also paused the end douga briefly to make the loop back to the start less jerky.
As usual, the reanimation shows a surprisingly complex action. Notice the almost subliminal eyeblink and the way that Tetsu’s hair reacts to the head jerk, which happens even as his eyes are still moving up to focus on Karada’s face. Nice. And worth watching several times.
