This is a rougher face-on character design for this character, evidently an early study as this sheet lacks the profile and rear view versions. Of the two, this one seems the stronger version, though the other sketch (in the thumbnail) is more refined in details.
Anri is the extraverted foil to Tsukasa. As the character design indicates, she over-dresses, over-obsesses about everything, and generally expects to be treated as a princess. Her magic is based on a “slam book,” where she writes comments on the others (generally derogatory) which magically appear in physical form hovering over their heads. Yet she does not expect to be worshiped; in fact she worships “Tsukasa-sama,” for whom she seems to carry a strong yuri infatuation.
As time goes on, she like the others learns to use her skill in a productive way, using her “slam book” to materialize weapons and other objects the group needs, and wielding massive versions of the physical letters she writes as weapons.
Like Tsukasa, Anri was voiced by a real eleven-year-old, Marin Funayama.
