And here's the really sad end key expression, with Mayuko reading "You lose" on the empty stick.
Even though the character development in this series is relatively simple, I find the eyes, with the tiny vestigial teardrops, genuinely moving.
This sketch set is a good example of how good anime can develop lovely images from the least promising of initial ideas.
