Scene 3, cut 26. The reverie comes to an end when she hears a loud knock at the door. She looks up in surprise, then realizes that it’s Chiaki, demanding that she let him in to explain things.
This is the A4 (end) genga, a dramatic image full of light and dark contrasts. The thumbs add a moody layout from the opening of the cut, with Maron's face still in her arms. (But what's with the big lump behind her? The studio was careful to make this a realistic silhouette of Maron's head in the next step.) The second is Kagawa's nice rough for the A4 key.
