This intense portrait of “Sand-throwing Granny” shows Kitarō’s father, “Papa Eyeball” leaning partway out of the cel on the left side. From the dynamic look, it seems as if the two are in the middle of a tight confrontation with a powerful enemy.
The top of the cel says it goes with scene 10, cut 43 of an unidentified episode. This cel also came with a dramatic douga, which includes even more of Medama-oyaji on the edge. That, sadly, seems to have been stored next to some sheet with deteriorating tape, as the light burn marks at the top show.
