The two listen with concern as the mushishi explains that the mother is afflicted with a mushi that is feeding off her memories.
This cut, like the next, gave the studio trouble, as you can see from the accompanying “BG correction” sketch. As we see the three characters from the same point of view, it was important that the details of the room behind them provided a continuous and consistent perspective.
