This is the version of the background that was actually used, as confirmed by the screen cap.
It too came with a more schematic revised layout that looks to me as if it were based on the rejected art board: see how similar the tree looks to that drawing. And so it’s interesting that the artist of this final version toned down the creepiest features of the tree and made it look ... well, more like an old cherry tree and less like a strangler fig. It is still an eerie and sinister scene.
