Here is one of those split-second moments that make these action scenes so dynamic. After she lets the left-hand ribbon go with the momentum of her first cast, suddenly Madoushi jerks back in the opposite direction, "cracking" the ribbon like a whip. See how this makes the earring tassels bounce back over her shoulders and gives the swirling ribbon one added level of energy. Notice, too, how the pony tail, its clockwise motion checked, is starting to jerk back to the right.
It's also interesting that the motion of her left earring tassel is worked out completely, although a fold of her cloak would conceal it from this angle, except for its fringed end.
Sakura won't dodge this attack so easily...
I've hidden the final gengas (B11 and B12), which show the pony tail reappearing to Madoushi's right and the tassels continuing to flare ahead and to the right, but you can view them (and a lot more in this gallery!) by going to "Private Area" and typing in "seemorestuff."
