Cut 126. This is a long cut (40+ cels), during which Silky’s eyes close further and fill with tears; she blushes; then she shuts her eyes and reciprocates Noelle’s hug. This cel shows the very start of this second phase of the sequence, with a peaceful expression that I find more moving than the more sentimental tear-dropping sequence-mates. Notice the very discreet airbrushed blush around the bottom of her eyes, which was protected by a blank cel sheet stapled in front.
This cel was a surprise birthday present from my friend and collaborator vampyreshoujo, who knew how much I loved this moment, too much to be satisfied with one lovely cel from it.
These latter moments have been favorites with RS curators: Otakusin has the A23 (showing the tears welling up in Silky’s eyes), Vapalla has the A25 also with a wonderful blush, and Tictac’s Corner has the A37 from near the end of the cut. Baka Inu Cels also has two cels from this cut, one with eyes open, and one, like mine with eyes shut.
