As many of these sketches, while lovely in execution, are very similar in composition, I’ve only sampled the remaining keys. (You can see the interesting B3 by going to "Private Area" and entering "seemorestuff."
Maron takes a step back, blinks, then takes another step back, and this fine image results. Again, I’ve imaged only the frame showing the close-up that the studio wanted, with a fuller scan of Maron’s body in the first thumb.

But now Toei does something really unexpected. Look at the second thumb for the copy layout, which has a whole series of instructions. Maron holds this pose for a long time, her eyes “glimmer” with the help of two C layers, and then the studio does a big track back from the close-up to the entire sheet, while the dark-woods background fades into a “city-streets” setting. In addition, two banks of random pedestrians appear, one walking behind Maron and the other directly in front.

It’s a dramatic shift, and the effect is to emphasize the isolation that Maron feels, now that she’s learned that Chiaki had no real interest in her as a person. Now she’s simply one more person in an anonymous urban landscape.
Cut 19 is just a long shot of hundreds of people crossing an intersection, like ants in an anthill, and then the scene shifts back to move on to the next item!
