Episode 17: Kids Floating, Natsuki Fainting, cut 196. Staying at Natsuki’s house, Sakura’s three kits are squabbling as usual, this time over the good parts of supper. The kit who takes after their father Sakunoshin snitches a tasty fish from the one who most resembles their mother, and we see the tyke first reacting with open-eyed shock.
This sketch set, and two others, was a surprise gift from my good friend Drakonia, who passed them on to me as a housewarming present (arigatou!). The rough (thumbnail) is probably by the episode's animator director, Yoshiaki Tsubata, a wide-ranging artist with credentials from an enormous range of anime series, including Pokemon, Vampire Princess Miyu, Inuyasha, Ghost in the Shell SAC, Monster, and Juuni Kokki/Twelve Kingdoms.
