Episode 18: An Era of Cohabitation, cut 63. In the following cut, Natsuki turns, listens to the koi chimes for a moment; then, to her companion's puzzlement, she darts off down the road.

Featured is the rough by Yasuhiro Takemoto, the episode's animation director. Visit the thumbs for the genga that cleaned up this sketch and for the copy layout, which shows Ishihara's personal stamp, with part of Takemoto's boxed initial to the right.

This also shows an extreme use of a parallel-lines sketching technique that I call "chicken-scratching." Ishihara was credited for storyboarding this episode, and as the layouts were sometimes done by the storyboarder, it's possible that this was his work. In any case "chicken-scratching" appears often in random genzu included with the sketch sets I've gotten from Ishihara-tachi episodes, both from this series and from Inuyasha
