Monta regains his balance, then looks in the direction of the magical attack in mingled shock and anger, while Misao and Sasami look on with concern.
This is the layout from the sketch set, which is actually very close to the finished gengas -- except that at some point Tsukasa was added to the left behind Monta. See the thumbnail for the A1/B1 genga that places her on the left edge to frame the outraged Monta’s recovery.
Misao’s eyes are especially pretty, both here and in the genga, and notice that at this point she still has her full complement of long flowing hair, a trait that links her with other magical girls, notably PPGZ’s Blossom.
