Cut 211. After a series of dramatic shock cuts to close-ups of Hael and Noelle closing in on each other, each separated by white-outs, we arrive at one of the indelible images of this series. Raphael, having passed through the jasmine jelly as if didn’t exist, now interpenetrates Noelle’s body as well. This cut shows the two floating through each other in slow motion, both frozen in astonishment at contacting -- but not actually touching -- each other. Sequence number: A6.

I’ve wanted one of these cels for a long time; fortunately, the way the cut was planned, there are more of them than you might expect: eighteen, in fact, according to the timing sheet that has since (6/24) come to hand. In Rubberslug at present, Near Dream has the A1, exCELsis has the A2, Vapalla’s cels has this cel’s immediate sequence-buddy, the A5, and Drakonia’s Cel Lair has the A12.
