As we watch Watanuke struggle with the box, finally bending down and out of the frame, we see Yûko sitting at the table, almost totally blissed out from snow-watching and completely ignoring his efforts.
It is interesting to compare this sketch with the earlier one in the thumbnail (executed on the back of Gonzo layout paper), where the perspective and layout of the table is quite different. The screencap shows still more rethinking, particularly in the arrangement of Yûko’s hands and the tightening of the frame to exclude Mokona altogether. However, the rather prominent cleavage remained intact from the first sketch to the final image.
