Gensoumaden Saiyuki, episode 25: "The Mightiest Thorn," cut 1A. This episode begins with Sanzo delivering a dramatic "recap" of the action to this point. The walls between Heaven and Earth tumbled down, he tells us, and the gods sent four envoys to save the world. One by one, demons appeared to face them, but these heroes defeated every enemy, even the mighty Demon Prince.
But, Sanzo continues, they had yet to face the greatest of all assassins. Her name ... Sanzo's voice trails off, and, for a second or two, we see a black screen.
Then, Lirin pops up from the bottom of the screen with: "It's LIRIN! WOO HOOO!" [Thanks again to Tex-chan for context and screen caps.]
Lirin's face and chest enter from the bottom of the frame, apparently bending over the viewer. She playfully points to her cheeks, then throws her arms, and her image spins on the screen, then pans down her form to the ground.
The B1 genga (not imaged) shows Lirin's face beginning to break into the frame. This shows her fully in view, her fingers beginning to move toward her cheeks. This is a fine portrait of this evil but somehow endearing character, but take a moment to look at the shuusei (first thumbnail), which manages to make her face much more yokai in expression.
