Here you see the result of the reworking: possibly the most intimidating genga I've ever seen of any character. Notice in particular the way that the muscles in Kougaiji's right arm have been plumped, so that he now seems ready to swing it back from his face and make Son Goku's journey West a very short one. The glove is also realistically done, which also draws the eye to the one yokai thumbnail that's showing.
Add the calm, contemptuous look straight in the viewer's eye, the Stanley Kowalski style opened shirt, and the huge biceps on the right side of the image, and you have one of the finest portraits of this worshipful antagonist I've ever seen.
As good as it is, the sakkan couldn't help pointing up the details of the expression in a shuusei. Click the thumb and gulp again.
