Key: B4. This sketch set was special in giving a full set of colorful images of Fuu’s magic attack.
Other sketches I’ve seen planning magical effects like this have looked more like the animator using scrap paper to sharpen his or her pencil. None of this generic nonsense for Studio CLAMP! I can only describe these amazing sketches as a kind of fireworks display in animation.
This image shows the sketch showing the spell as it develops and begins to sweep things up from the ground around Fuu’s feet (notice that a space is left for her right leg). The thumbnails show the earlier B2, where the spell is first released, and the B6, where the whirlwind of magic increases.
Snakeskii has combined some of these with her A11 image so you can see how these begin to appear from Fuu's outstretched hand and swirl around her feet. Shift back to her gallery for two examples.
