Cut 123. After rescuing the falling Yuusuke (who’s still hanging onto her middle for dear life!) Noelle turns to Silky, who’s resisting the idea of becoming an angel, and gives her this enormous glomp. This seems to be the first time in Silky’s existence that she’s received this kind of whole-hearted affection, and it starts her own move toward accepting herself. Sequence Number: A15.

In the original, this cel is seen against a midnight-blue background, but I liked the lighter-than-air sentimental feeling that this art paper gave this cel. The douga, as you might expect, is a virtuoso piece of draftsmanship, showing how Studio Pierrot gives their animated feathers real physical heft.

Tictac’s Corner has this image’s immediate sequence-buddy, the A14.
