Episode: 39 (Sakura's Dizzy Fever Day): After healing Sakura’s fever, her mother, reassured, looks up to talk to Touya. Sequence number: C5 (key).

Nadeshiko cels, particularly those of her in angelic form, are amazingly rare and in hot demand. Though the image is left of center to leave room for Touya on the other side of the screen (see the screen cap), it still makes a lovely three-quarters profile.

Sensei check! In this cut, the feathers in Nadeshiko’s angel wings are an unexpectedly cheerful orange. This suggests that, from time to time, angels in the Japanese Bright Place must be able to make themselves over occasionally to look more like parrots than swans.

An interesting detail, visible in the douga and (with a little squinting) in the cel, is the little pearldrop necklace around Nadeshiko’s neck. I suspect this was supposed to be painted orange but without black trace lines, like her feathers and the three stars on her blouse. But in the end it was left the same color as the blouse, so it is prominent on the douga but invisible in the broadcast image and nearly so on the cel itself.

Gecko Blue Cels has a lovely cel of Nadeshiko hovering by Sakura’s bed (with ominously snaky hair), which comes from the next scene in this episode. There are other cels from this same cut in Shaylagirl's Itsy-Bitsy Cel Collection, and in Jenny and Katie’s Cels.
